JOURNAL OF ART HISTORY

Vol 4, Yr 2009

We are pleased to present the fourth issue of the University of Tampa Journal of Art History. Hopefully, the Journal will help foster an increased interest in art history research among college and university undergraduates.

We are in debt to our student contributors and to David Carrier, Ph.D. Champney Family Professor, Department of Art History and Art Case Western Reserve University / Cleveland Institute of Art, Cleveland, Ohio, for his contributing essay and his support of our endeavor.

We are also pleased to announce the continuation of the Al and Lynn Page Student Prizes in Art History for student essays published in this electronic journal, for the Spring 2010 issue. In the Spring 2010 issue, once again we plan to feature one faculty essay and up to three or four student essays from those submitted. On a competitive basis, one student essay will be from the University of Tampa, one from the contributing professor’s home school, and one or two shall be from students from any nationally accredited academic institution (accompanied by an electronic letter of nomination by an appropriate faculty member). Each winning student essay will receive a $500 prize. Please see comments under "About" for complete submissions guidelines.

Thank you for your interest, and we trust you will enjoy the journal. Please feel free to contact us at anytime with respect to the journal, especially concerning possible articles.
